The residence of the Moscow Muftiate of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia hosted an interfaith iftar, bringing together representatives of Russia's traditional religions, government authorities, public organizations, the academic and educational community, and the clergy.
In the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia, as part of the state policy aimed at strengthening interethnic and interreligious harmony, the Moscow Muftiate residence served as a venue for the interfaith iftar. In an atmosphere of respectful dialogue and good neighborliness, the participants discussed the significance of spiritual and moral values and the importance of strengthening interreligious cooperation in modern society.
During the gathering, guests expressed their gratitude to the Mufti of Moscow, Head of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia, Albir hazrat Krganov, for the invitation and organization of the iftar. They noted his significant contribution to the development of interfaith dialogue, the strengthening of spiritual and moral values, as well as his sincerity, openness, and consistent efforts for the benefit of the Muslim Ummah and society as a whole – both within Russia and beyond its borders.
Throughout the month of Ramadan, the Moscow Muftiate also holds daily iftars for parishioners, guests, and visitors. These gatherings bring together believers of all ages from different parts of the country in an atmosphere of brotherhood and mutual respect.
The conclusion of the holy fast will be marked by the festive prayer of Eid al-Fitr (Uraza Bayram), one of the most anticipated days for Muslims. On the eve of the holiday, prayers will be held at venues in Kommunarka, Sokolniki, and on the grounds of the Moscow Muftiate. A live broadcast will also be organized on television for viewers in various countries of the Islamic world.
The interfaith iftar once again reminded everyone that the blessed month of Ramadan remains a time when people can gather around one table, discuss important matters, and reaffirm the value of peace, harmony, and good neighborliness.
