Representatives of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia took part in the online format in the panel discussion "East, West, Russia: Evolution of the World Struggle", which took place in the conference hall of the publishing house "Moscow Komsomolets".
The organizers of the events were: International Institute for the Development of Scientific Cooperation, Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Science and the publishing house "Moscow Komsomolets".
The discussion was moderated by Elena Ponomareva, Chairwoman of International Institute for the Development of Scientific Cooperation. The main speakers were: Vitaly Naumkin, Scientific Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of the Department of World Politics at Moscow State University; Nikolay Vavilov, founder of web-portal “South China”, employee of the Committee for External Relations of the Government of St. Petersburg ;Vladimir Zharikhin, Deputy Director of the Institute of CIS Countries and Wassim Kalaadzhiya, a doctor and coordinator of the Al-Wasatia Forum in Lebanon.
The main topics of discussion were the Middle East track of development and the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the Taiwan factor and China's attempts to integrate into the global economic and political space, Ukraine at the epicenter of the world struggle.
In their speeches, experts touched upon those sophisticated problems and complex political and social-economic processes that the whole world faces nowadays. They stressed that the balance of power in the global geopolitical space has significantly changed over the last few years, as some new players have come to the fore. Therefore, it is necessary to look for new ways and mechanisms for cooperation to address all these emerging problems.
At the end of the event, the audience from the studio and those who connected online were able to ask their questions to respected experts, as well as express their personal point of view on the problems that have been discussed.
